Legend has it that Louis Cadet St. Julien murdered his first wife, Marguerite LeBlanc, who was having an affair with a hired hand named Aubin. St. Julien tried to pin this murder on Alexandre deClouet and a certain Carmouche. The incident is described in detail in C. C. Robin's book VOYAGE TO Louisiana, written about the time of the Louisiana Purchase
