Erik Malm

   Another name for Erik was Erik Larson.

  General Notes:

"The Erick Malm family settled on a lakeside near Alexandria, Minn. Later moved into Alexandria, proper. Their home was, I thought very nice for those years. Grandfather was a carpenter, if I remember right. He lived into his 70's & died from a bowel obstruction. I barely remember him - nice looking grandfather of slight build and had a beautiful beard!

Grandmother lived to be 98 years of age. She spoke scarcely any English. She was a doll - very tiny, had a little round head with scarcely any hair and it was a little tiny knot on the top of her head. She was visiting us one summer and had been there about ten days when one morning she got up and mother and I knew she wanted something but we didn't know what and she couldn't make us understand (modesty must have forbade that). We worked at t all day but had to wait for dad to come home from work to tell us. It was warmer underwear!

The original name of this family was Larson. Ihated it and never ever told anybody. That is, until I realized I was the only one left who might remember this item, so told it. They changed it to Malm when they came to the U.S. for the reason there were so many people by that name. Some of the cousins that came to this country at the same time, changed their name to Malmquist.

Dalarna, Sweden is located in the agricultural area in the south of Sweden and I think Dad was 12 years old at the time they came here"

Erik married Unknown Malm. The cause of her death was Lived to 98 years old.
